kom.post
A necessary, acknowledgeable, and fertile place for artistic composition and effective theoretical decomposition.
kom-post is a research and creation group which is setting in motion a process of collective and individual work. Bringing together young cultural actors with diverse sensibilities and wide-spread geographic origins (from countries within or neighbouring a European entity in construction), it calls upon each of them through their specific form of expression, from philosophic discourse to video, photography, performance... kom.post offers the artists, whatever their domain, a space where their subjective words are received and taken up in a common process which, having reached a certain niveau, can be reworked and recomposed within and by the singular practices which make it up and make it their own.
kom.post attempts this level of apprehension in forming an experimental milieu where the European space can be questioned, less in order to define what remains open and in evolution than to experience, at a subjective and intersubjective level, the possibilities of such a geography in motion.
This terrain, with its varying dimensions and whose components meet and coexist following a principal of sameness and difference is as physical as it is cultural : it is the space-time that our generation discovers as a complex of gestures and words, of human faces and mythical figures, of familiarity and "unsettling strangeness".
It is within this multilayered, stratified existence that we situate kom.post. It redoubles the physical characteristic with one ideal and significative, by opening the construction space onto a cultural object which associates the common and the infinitely differential, the collective and the subjective : Oedipus, considered both as the thread that runs through a certain civilisation and as a sinuous element whose twists are capable of revealing the specificity of the subjects who have watched it throughout history.
From the myth to the demystification via the interpretations of psychoanalysis, from Seneca to Deleuze's Anti-Oedipus via Freud's complex, the path of cultural history lies open before us, inviting us to follow and to reexperience, in order to find our own stance just as Oedipus found his, unable to position himself in the world without having first retraced in his own name the path of his origins. The modalities of our work also associate the collective and the individual, are shared through diverse forms and under permanent tension between research and exhibition, between private and public.
